OUR STORY

ABOUT US

Changing the Narrative was started by a group of college graduates who witnessed a serious disconnect in the community surrounding mental wellness. Often times, under the realms of mental health, lie cultural obstacles that makes it that much more difficult to have honest conversations. Generations of using age-old tactics to "deal" with those who are suffering in silence from mental illness, violence or disability have led to a disconnected community and a plethora of individuals not knowing how or who to ask for help.

This prompted a need for change, led by 4 determined women. By partnering with established professionals within the community, we are working to bridge the gap and continue to always keep the conversation about mental wellness going. Under this umbrella, we hope to change how we talk about addiction, mental illnesses, gun violence, sexual violence, autism, and so much more. We hope this initiative will bring on meaningful knowledge and long lasting change. A change that will shift the narrative on these sensitive topics and lead to a more equipped, more aware, and more educated community.
